First, thanks to everyone who is checking back and for sticking with me today (get it?...sticking?...epoxy?...) during my technical difficulties--whew! But here I am, completely honored to be a part of Kerin Gale's Inspired Remnants Blog Tour!
How about Kerin's book, huh? As Becky revealed yesterday (Ms. Number 9), I too was introduced to the medium of epoxy clay through the fabulous Michael deMeng (an Aves Man), and now Kerin's book has me reeling with new ideas and ways to combine my love of steel wire with her expertise in everything sticky and clay-like! Bravo!
I thought I'd share the piece I created during one of Michael’s workshops last summer at our fab Wisconsin retreat, Valley Ridge Art Studio right here in Wisconsin.
My sweet WonI (WonI Strikes Warrior Pose), was created from a McDonald's Happy Meal toy, and a few odd found objects! My mixed media jewelry students got a kick out of her last semester at Mount Mary College!
And, as Kerin alluded to on the Tour's Facebook page earlier, there's also a project (surprise!) in my newest book, Steel Wire Jewelry, using our beloved clay! Check out the title!
Here's the most fabulous part about the tour! Winning prizes!
Sponsored Prizes
Please note that all physical prizes (i.e. non digital prizes) will be awarded to US participants only because of the high cost of shipping overseas). Access to Online Workshops and Digital Collage Sheets will be sent anywhere, worldwide.
HOW TO WIN: Leave a comment! Get more chances to win by leaving your comment along the stops in the blog tour. Preferably, when you leave a comment, you should provide a link to your post about the book tour (facebook, twitter, your blog, etc.) Each post is worth one entry in my drawing. At the end I will randomly pick from the comments and the prizes will be distributed from the suppliers.
PRIZES:
A) “Inspired Remnants, Curious Dreams” by Kerin Gale. It’s what the book tour is all about.
B) One Aves Power Pack (selection of their most popular formulas) from http://AvesStudios.com.
C) Fluid Chalks Online Workshop by Lesley Venable on her The Art Of Altering site
D) Two Digital Collage Sheets by Alicia Caudle of Altered Bits. You can see her very unique and cool collection at http://alteredbits.com/digital-collage-sheets.php
E) Sample pack of Silputty 40 silicone putty mold mix from Silpak. This is the formula in the book that has the longer cure time. If you want to order any of these materials or have any questions, call Jerry at Silpak 909-625-0056. He was the technical adviser for the book so it’s great that you can talk to him directly and get any assistance you may need.
ALSO, win an autographed copy of Steel Wire Jewelry (link) by posting to my Facebook Fan page by the last day of the tour. I'll select one name from a hat full of 'em!
Thank you SO much for looking in and don’t forget to visit each artist for the rest of the tour (heck, if you're comin' in late, visit Days 1-8 as well)! Here is the schedule:
